The Miura Friendship Garden was open to the general public on Saturday as part of celebrations to recognise a 30-year sister city friendship.

A range of activities were enjoyed throughout the day including games, activities, food and entertainment – all organised by members of the Warrnambool Community Garden.

Visitors were treated to live performances which highlighted both Japanese and First Nations traditions, along with games such as Karuta and Kendama.

A highlight for many was the opportunity to try their hand at basket-weaving and creating onigiri (rice balls) with bush food flavours.
