Athletes battle heat
LAST weekend’s warm conditions didn’t deter athletes of all ages and abilities from participating in the UPR Foreshore Triathlon event on Sunday.

More than 80 athletes, including juniors and All Abilities, tackled the course with some good times recorded.
Results from the day were as follows:
Short course (7km) female – 1st Karen Benson 28:43.9, 2nd Kate Coverdale 31:14.9, 3rd Eve Ryan 3:52.6.
Short course (7km) male – 1st Dale Beaton 26:53.5, 2nd Adam Stirling 30:28.6, 3rd John Manderson 32:17.8.
Sprint distance (25.5km) female – 1st Brooke Gordon 1:11.20.7, 2nd Jenny Dowie 1:12.59.5, 3rd Gab Lanman 1:13.36.4.
Sprint distance (25.5km) female teams – 1st Legs 11, 2nd The Salty Dogs, 3rd Ryan Sisters.
Sprint distance (25.5km) male – 1st Jarrod Johnstone 59:30.9, 2nd Ruben De Silva-Smith 1:00.17.5, 3rd Dallas Jones 1:02.43.0.
Sprint distance (25.5km) male teams – 1st Twig, Tree and Fish, 2nd Heavy Hitters, 3rd Team Tech School.
Sprint distance (25.5km) female/male teams – 1st Green Machine, 2nd Tri-Ing to Keep Up, 3rd The Stookers.
