Countdown to the Classic is on
WITH just one week to the start of the biggest event on Warrnambool’s Sprintcar racing calendar, preparations are now in full swing.
The 2025 Flying Horse Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic will see thousands of race enthusiasts head to the Premier Speedway track for night one next Friday, with the action continuing over the weekend and culminating in the grand finale Sunday night.
But there’s plenty of entertainment both on and off the track in the lead-up to next weekend and race enthusiasts are in for a real treat.
Action kicks off this Sunday night with the ARB Warrnambool International Sprintcar Carnival.
This Sprintcar-only event pays a massive $15,000 to win, with a total prize purse of over $50,000, and will see plenty of hot racing action throughout the night.
Nominations have included five American superstars who will battle it out against some of our nation’s best.
The younger race fans haven’t been forgotten, with fairy floss, popcorn, slushies and roving kids’ entertainment all on the program in what promises to be a great family-friendly event.
Gates open at 3pm, open pits from 3.30pm-5pm, with on-track action from 6pm (with an expected completion time of 9.30pm).
All the excitement of ‘Classic’ week will kick start next Monday, with the ‘Thrill on the Hill’ event at Flagstaff Hill, Warrnambool.
From 5pm visitors to Flagstaff will be able to enjoy a range of activities including the blasting of the 80-pound cannon, followed by the maritime cannon.
This will signal the start of the Sprintcar Street Parade – an exciting opportunity to see the mighty Sprintcars cruise through the cobblestone streets of Flagstaff.
After the parade, visitors will be able to get up close to some of their favourite cars before joining Gavin White for a live edition of ‘Four Wide’ – complete with insider insights, car previews and some behind-the-scenes action.
Live music will continue through the night, with food trucks on-site to satisfy hungry stomachs.
Don’t miss your chance to soak up the atmosphere and excitement of Classic week in the ‘Bool.
