Creek wins Super Smash Sunday
TALENTED Russells Creek batsmen Craig Britten and Hamesh Huffadine have taken out the Northern Raiders’ Super Smash Sunday.

The pair defeated Mortlake’s Lachie Wareham and Todd Lamont to take out the title at Purnim Recreation Reserve last Sunday.
Now in its second year under a revamped format, Super Smash Sunday involved 16, two-player teams who compete in a knockout competition, with winning teams advancing to the next round until two teams meet in a grand final.
Last weekend’s event attracted players from several Warrnambool District clubs along with others who travelled from as far afield as Colac, Bendigo, Geelong and Melbourne.
Overseas players, who originated from India, Canada, West Indies and England who are currently playing in Victoria, also took part.
Throughout the 104 overs bowled during the competition, 1060 runs were scored and 40 wickets fell – with 71 runs the highest team score recorded in a four-over allocation.
