Festive windows spread Christmas cheer
WARRNAMBOOL now has its very own version of the Myer Christmas windows.
While the windows themselves may be slightly smaller in size than those in the heart of Melbourne, the spirit behind them is just as big.
Staff and family at Middle Island Medical have gone to great lengths in recent weeks to bring all the joy and happiness of Christmas to the local community.
Each of the building’s exterior windows are now home to colourful and brightly-lit Christmas themed displays for everyone to enjoy.
“We’re very proud of our windows and hope the community gets a lot of enjoyment from them,” practice owner Ami Thies said.
“Campbell (McKellar) and I were thrilled with the response from the clinic staff when we were discussing the possibility of creating a Christmas display.
“This is the brainchild of our nurse, Maria Zerbe. The staff and their families have gone above and beyond and have worked really hard to create this colourful, magical display for everyone to enjoy.”
Dr Thies is hoping the window display will continue next year, perhaps with a theme or a story.
“We’re hoping that maybe a local business will get behind an artist or group to do the windows next Christmas and perhaps it could follow a theme,” she said.
“Similar to the windows in the city, we have enough here on this building to be able to tell a story from start to finish – that could add even more magic.”
