Flaggy 5 attracts large field
MORE than 217 participants enjoyed the first of three ‘Flaggy 5 Fun Run’ events in Warrnambool earlier this month.
The January 8 fun run/walk event, which included a five-kilometre race and a 2.5 kilometre course, attracted a large group of enthusiastic athletes and supporters.
The ‘Flaggy 5’ is organised annually by members of the Warrnambool Running Club.
The second event for this year was held last Wednesday while the final event is scheduled for next Wednesday, January 22.
All walkers will leave the start line at Flagstaff Hill at 5.45pm, followed by the runners at 6pm.
Entry is just $5 per participant which includes entry to Music on the Hill in the village (which finishes at 8pm).
Fifty per cent of profits from the event will be donated to the Crystal Lee Foundation.
