Free community lunch
WITH many families facing tough times, it’s comforting to know that a traditional Christmas Day lunch can still be enjoyed by everyone.
Fr Bill Lowry and volunteer Ted Dekok are looking forward to welcoming everyone to the free Christmas lunch on December 25.
Thanks to a band of volunteers, a free community lunch will once again be served in Warrnambool’s St Joseph’s Church Hall from 12 noon on December 25.
“No matter what your religion, or no religion, everyone is welcome to join us for a wonderful lunch in the hall on Christmas day,” volunteer Ted Dekok said.
“This will be my 12th year of volunteering and it’s an honour to do so. I really enjoy it and it’s so lovely to see the smiles on people’s faces throughout the afternoon.”
The free lunch will run from 12 noon until 1.30pm and bookings are required for catering purposes.
Anyone wishing to attend is urged to contact Lorri on 0400 585 554 or the parish office 5562 2231 by next Wednesday, December 20.
