Grant applications close tonight
LOCAL community groups have until tonight to apply for funding through the 2024-25 Volunteer Grants program.
Member for Wannon Dan Tehan has today urged all local organisations to apply for funding in this latest round of grants.
“These grants can assist with the purchase of essential items that make volunteering easier, safer and more enjoyable,” Mr Tehan said.
“This includes equipment, training, transport, and initiatives to promote volunteering, increase awareness and inspire greater participation.
“Volunteers are crucial to the fabric of our communities, supporting the operations of social, educational, sporting, cultural, and environmental groups and activities.”
He believes volunteers are the backbone of every community.
“By continuing to support one other and work together, we are creating a stronger and safer Wannon,” Mr Tehan added.
Grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 are available to assist community organisations in supporting the valuable work of volunteers.
Expressions of interest will close at 5pm tonight (Friday, January 17).
Interested groups are urged to contact Mr Tehan’s office today on 1300 131 692.
