Hockey finals mark end of season
HOCKEY South West celebrated its winter grand finals and consolation finals last week.
The finals for under 12, under 14 and under 16 mixed competitions, along with the open men’s and women’s divisions were all played in good spirits last Friday and Saturday.
Throughout the season teams have been travelling from as far as Portland and Corangamite to compete in Warrnambool.
The finals marked the end of the 2023 hockey season. Hockey South West is now looking forward to seeing the start of works to replace the 17-year-old pitch with a new, national standard pitch.
It is anticipated the new pitch will be completed mid-February.
