Last weekend’s event saw an incredible 348 runners tackle the 10 kilometre course, while a further 170 entered the six kilometre run.

The six kilometre walk attracted a field of 73 entrants while close to 175 participants enjoyed the three kilometre ‘lap of the lake’ course.

What initially began as an idea from a group of local footballers has since grown to one of the biggest community run/walk events in the district – much to the delight of organisers.

The 10km course takes runners all around the heart of the city, giving participants the chance to run down the centre of Liebig Street and surrounds.

Results from the event were as follows:

Men’s 10km run – 1st Ben Stevens, 2nd Daniel Hart, 3rd Jason Daye.

Women’s 10km run – 1st Elizabeth Winter, 2nd Siobhan Sefton, 3rd Fleur Barling.

Men’s 6km run – 1st Gibson Paxman, 2nd William Gleisner, 3rd Jesse Stent.

Women’s 6km run – 1st Charlotte Staaks, 2nd Tully Watt, 3rd Alicia Boyd.
