In-form Pirates top ladder
PORT Fairy notched up win number seven for the season last weekend and holds top spot on the Warrnambool District division one ladder.

Now sitting three points clear of second-placed Allansford Panmure, the Pirates won the toss on Saturday and sent opponents Russells Creek in to bat.
Creek reached 5/182 in its 45 overs, with Ryan Barnes hitting a creditable 72 runs off 89 balls which included four boundaries and two sixes.
Team-mate Rukshan Weerasinghe was also effective with the bat, contributing 27 off 51.
Best of the Pirates’ bowlers were James Van De Peer with figures of 2-13 off nine and Alexander Jennings 1/47.
In reply the Pirates finished the day at 8/185 in the 42nd over.
Vice-captain Alexander Jennings was best with the bat with a knock of 43 off 69 deliveries while Murray Staude was unbeaten on 36 and Henry Bensche not out on 22.
In other round nine games last weekend, Dennington defeated Wesley Yambuk, West Warrnambool had a win over Northern Raiders, Merrivale defeated Mortlake, Allansford won over Brierly-Christ Churvch and Nestles defeated the Eels.
