Input sought on Budget
COMMUNITY input is being sought on Moyne Shire Council’s annual Budget.
Residents are being asked to provide their thoughts on where funding should be allocated.
At November’s Ordinary Council Meeting the budget process for 2024/25 was outlined – highlighting how the community could get involved.
Cr Smith said a community survey was now open until early January.
“Preparation of the budget is a balancing act of prioritising financial resources to deliver projects, services and programs that meet the community’s needs,” he said.
“We have four pillars identified in our Council Plan and we are asking the community to tell us which of those they think we should focus on.
“We can use that information to determine the resources required to help us deliver a wide range of services - now and in the future.”
The community survey can be completed on council’s new platform, Engage Moyne, or a hard copy is available through its customer service until January 5, 2024.
Council officers will then prepare the draft budget which will be presented at the April, 2024 Council meeting and then open for community feedback.
The final budget will be presented to councillors for adoption at the June Ordinary Council Meeting.
