Jackway to release new music
FORMER Warrnambool singer-songwriter Maddie Jackway will today (Friday) release her new EP, ‘Kindred.’

Now based in Geelong, Jackway is set to also unveil her new lead single, ‘You make Me Look Over My Shoulder,’ to accompany her EP announcement.
The mid-tempo, Pop/R&B/Soul track features haunting electronic elements and vocal harmonies while lyrically detailing being ghosted by someone and the anxiety of when their paths will cross again.
The song showcases an evolved sound from the singer-songwriter and leaves much to anticipate for the new EP.
Jackway described her new work as a shift away from her first release.
“I’ve always said that I won’t be boxed into one genre and this EP really shows that,” Jackway said.
“You can hear all of my different influences as a writer and musician.”
Co-produced with Melbourne keyboardist and producer Jake Amy, the pair tracked the five-song extended play out of Kindred Studios while Jackway was Victoria University’s ‘music artist in residence.’
Jackway was a billed artist at the 2022 Port Fairy Folk Festival.
Her new EP, Kindred, can be heard on all digital streaming platforms.
