Lions club spreads Christmas cheer
THE Lions Club of Warrnambool is hoping visitors to Gateway Plaza will help spread some Christmas cheer this season.
As has become tradition, the Lions organisation is once again selling Christmas cakes and puddings in the lead-up to Christmas Day as one of their major fundraisers.
A stall has been set up inside Warrnambool’s Gateway Plaza in the hope that visitors will purchase a cake or pudding, or make a donation that will help others in need.
This year has also seen the addition of the Hearing Dogs jute shopping bags along with a giant raffle – with the chance to win two great prizes (the first being a giant hamper filled with loads of goodies for the entire family).
“The money raised from our Christmas raffle along with the sale of cakes, puddings and shopping bags allows us to continue our projects within the local community,” Lions Club of Warrnambool member Raine McMillan said.
“We thoroughly enjoy volunteering and giving back to our community; it’s all about helping others less fortunate and giving support to those in need so what better time to do that than at Christmas?
“The Lions cakes and puddings have become staples in many homes across the district so we encourage everyone to pop in to the Plaza in the lead up to Christmas and make a purchase if they can.”
