Lunar New Year celebrations
GENERATIONS and cultures united at the Archie Graham Centre in Warrnambool last weekend to celebrate Lunar New Year.
More than 150 people of all ages enjoyed a day of food, fun, games and celebration on Saturday.
Participants were encouraged to take along a favourite traditional dish to share during what was a wonderful, intercultural celebration.
“We all gathered to celebrate the Year of the Dragon,” co-organiser Daisy Ye said.
“The day wasn’t just for Chinese, we also had Filipinos, Indonesians, Vietnamese, Koreans, Fijians, Thai, Malaysian and of course quite a few Aussies.
“It was wonderful. Every child received red envelopes with lucky money inside and we all played traditional games and lots of gifts were exchanged.”
