Moran wins vets’ A grade
THE East Framlingham Golf Course proved challenging for players in the first round of the Corangamite Veterans Golfers Association 2025 competition earlier this month.
Forty-four players contested the January 6 event on what was a challenging but well-prepared course.
A grade went to Tom Moran on 33 points, on countback from Max Bubb of Winchelsea on 33.
Third place was Trevor Gardner (Cobden) on 21.
NAGA was Andrew Burrows (Camperdown) on 21.
B grade was won by Charles Cowell (East Framlingham) on 40 points, from Ray Eckles (East Framling) on 37, with Peter Collihole (Birregurra) third on 34.
NAGA was Camperdown’s Geoff Webber on 22.
Nearest the pins: 3/12 holes Kevin Etherton (Mortlake), 7/16 Neil Smith (Warrnambool) and 9/18 Tom Moran (Camperdown).
The next two events will be held on Tuesday, January 21 (two-person ambrose at Birregurra) and Tuesday, February 4 (stableford at Peterborough).
