Nestles cricketers celebrate

NESTLES Cricket Club celebrated a successful season, both on and off the field, at its annual senior presentation night last Friday.

Several team and club awards were presented throughout the evening, including the Ken ‘Cowdy’ Neale Best Clubman Award which this season went to Peter Shelton. 

Among the many awards presented included the Alf Fish Memorial Trophy to Geoff Williams; Scotty Stewart Memorial Most Determined award to Max Hannah; the Garry Dalton ‘Up and Coming’ award to Jorja Couch and the Connie Gavin Fielding award to Ben Dobson. 

Team awards were presented as follows:

Division One

Coach Alex Strauch and captain Jacob Hetherington. MyCricket award and division one Cricketer of the Year - Geoff Williams. Fielding Will White; bowling aggregate and average Jacob Hetherington; bowling aggregate Sanjaya Chathuranga; batting average Sanjaya Chathuranga; batting aggregate Geoff Williams. Division Two Captain Dean Finlayson. 

Division two

Cricketer of the Year Tim Cain. Fielding award Ryan Bellman; MyCricket award Tim Cain. Bowling aggregate and average Tim Cain; batting aggregate and average Michael Harricks 

Division Four

Captain Luke Cann. Division four Cricketer of the Year Nathan Brown. Captains award Matty Morrison; Best Team Player Pierre Shelton; MyCricket Award and batting aggregate Simon Dart; batting average Jacob Herbert; bowling aggregate Sam Grinter and bowling average Cooper Brown. 

Sungold Twenty20 Cup

Coach Alex Strauch and captain Jacob Hetherington. Batting aggregate and average Geoff Williams; bowling aggregate and average Matt Price. 

Women’s 1st XI 

Women’s 1st XI Cricketer of the Year Mikaela Doran. Coach Geoff Williams and captain Brooke Herbertson. Fielding award Vicky McPhee; coaches award Samantha Wormald; MyCricket Award Mikaela Doran; bowling aggregate Jorja Couch; bowling average Gabby Lenehan. Thank you to all club members and sponsors who went along to celebrate the club’s senior men’s and women’s teams. 

A special shout-out to club president Gary MacLean for all the work he has done throughout the year.
