New Community Services manager appointed
AN experienced local government professional has joined Moyne Shire council in the critical role of manager community services.

Miryam Franjic has responsibility of the community services unit which delivers vital services such as early childhood education and care, including kindergartens, home and community care, maternal and child health and immunisation.
Ms Franjic joins Moyne with an extensive record of local government experience across south-west Victoria, with a background in early years services.
She previously held positions within the community and corporate services teams at the City of Ballarat, Golden Plains Shire Council and Southern Grampians Shire Council.
Ms Franjic’s most recent role was children’s services manager at the Glenelg Shire Council.
During her varied career, she was also employed by South West TAFE, facilitating the delivery of Cert III and diploma-level early childhood units.
Director community and corporate services David Rae said Ms Franjic was a great fit for the Moyne team and had hit the ground running.
“Miryam brings to her role a wealth of industry experience and leadership skills to successfully deliver council’s strategic objectives and the key priorities of this important role,” Mr Rae said.
“I am thrilled that Miryam has joined our team and I look forward to working with her to best deliver these critical services for the community.”
Ms Franjic said she was excited by both the challenges and opportunities facing Moyne Shire Council.
“Having a passion for local government and regional communities, I am aware of the challenges the area faces, including staff shortages, and will continue to work on addressing staffing challenges and understanding the unique needs of the community,” Ms Franjic said.
“I am delighted to have joined the team and hope to add value in supporting council’s vision and ambitions by continuing to gain a greater understanding of what the community wants to achieve.
“The team is incredibly hard working and determined to deliver the best level of service to the community – I’m looking forward to working with them to continue delivering these services while putting in place some new initiatives to ensure we reflect the community’s ongoing needs.”
