The group, which welcomes people of all ages with campers, tents and caravans, enjoy regular trips away – and some destinations are close to home.

“We don’t always travel far, you don’t have to clock up the kilometres to have a fun getaway,” member Pauline Hurley said.

“Our group provides an opportunity for people of all ages, from all walks of life, to come together and share a common interest.

“We love the outdoors and exploring our surrounds and that includes discovering the history of our local areas. Camping near local towns gives us the chance to contribute to these small communities through fuel, food, shopping that type of thing.”

Spending last weekend in Panmure, the group enjoyed a meal at the local hotel.

“It (Panmure) is such a quiet, peaceful area and we enjoyed the chance to just sit and relax.”
