Perfect conditions for fun run
CLEAR skies and sunshine made for perfect conditions for a large group of runners and walkers in Port Fairy last weekend.

The annual Port Fairy Seagulls Family Fun Run once again proved popular among residents and holiday makers to the seaside town on Sunday morning.
The event included a six kilometre walk as well as both a six and 12 kilometre run.
Beginning at Gardens Oval, the course took participants towards the Connolly Street steps then down East Beach passed the surf club towards Battery Hill.
Participants then headed along Griffiths Street towards the bridge before turning back to the oval and across the finish line.
Runners in the 12km event completed two laps of the course.
Fun run coordinator Shaun Murrihy said he was pleased with the turn-out.
“This event really raises important funds for the coming season; we have over 400 netballers and footballers,” Mr Murrihy said.
“Last year’s event helped with our new lights which will be installed in the coming months.”
Results were as follows:
12km run:
Men – 1st Andrew Laxa, 2nd Tim Wright, 3rd Kelby Fleming.
Women – 1st Brigid Madden, 2ndKristee Hayes, 3rd Mel Blackberry.
6km run:
Men – 1st Dec Kelly, 2nd William Verhoef, 3rd Charlie Murry.
Women – 1st Charlotte Dersace, 2nd Karen Bell, 3rd Sally Ryley.
6km walk:
Men – 1st Josh Gunning and Mick Hearn, 2nd Leon Carey, 3rd Luke Reddie.
Women – 1st Leha Kamean, 2nd Kirsty Keightley, 3rd Georgia Tsiagalos.
