Warrnambool City Council has partnered with Storytowns Audio Tours on the festive scavenger hunt, with each reindeer found bringing players closer to the chance to win fantastic prizes.

Winner of the inaugural South West start-up incubator The Ideas Place and Storytowns founder Jarrod Pickford said that he had received great feedback on the hunt.

“It is free, fun and an excellent way to explore Warrnambool,” he said.

Warrnambool mayor Cr Ben Blain said the scavenger hunt complemented a string of new decorations and a series of events and activities to create a vibrant city centre, with buskers, performers, face painters, acrobats and a balloon artist all adding to the atmosphere.

“An audio scavenger hunt is a unique way to explore the city centre, and we are really pleased to be working with Ideas Place alumnus Storytowns to put it together,” he said.

“It’s all happening at this time of year; the great thing about a scavenger hunt is that you can do it at a time that suits you.

“Christmas is a time where people come together and we have some all-new Christmas decorations in the city centre that are perfect for group photos.

“The projectors are back, beaming images onto CBD buildings, and in a major coup for the city we were able to convince Santa Claus himself to make some time in his busy schedule to help us make the videos.”

Cr Blain believes all these elements add up to create a festive city centre to help get everyone into the spirit of the Christmas season.
