Season ends for Koroit
KOROIT’S division two cricketers lost their semi-final match against Noorat Terang last weekend, ending their hopes of a season premiership.


The team won the toss and elected to bat first but struggled to make a big impression on the scoreboard, reaching 10/86 in the 54th over.
Opener Patrick Sinnott was the top scorer for the side, making 36 runs, while Bailen McDonald, not out on 30, was the only other to reach double figures.
In reply, Noorat Terang reached 10/125 in the 70th over.
Koroit opted to bat a second innings but was contained to 3/112 after 14 overs.
Noorat Terang held on for a first innings win after making 16 runs after 11 overs for no wickets lost.
Victory earnt the Lions their first grand final play-off as an amalgamated side (and in their first season in the Warrnambool District league).
In the second semi-final match, Hawkesdale were big winners over Nirranda, 10/242 to 10/117.
Nirranda opener Tyler Mungean was the side’s top scorer, making 51 runs from 93 balls in an innings that included three boundaries.
Hawkesdale will now face Noorat Terang in the grand final at Allansford Recreation Reserve tomorrow (Saturday) from 12.30pm.
Tomorrow’s division one grand final will see Allansford Panmure face Nestles.
Division three, played last weekend, saw Noorat Terang 7/209 defeat Nirranda 10/110.
