Show n Shine attracts a crowd
HUNDREDS of car enthusiasts headed to Port Fairy last weekend to take a close look at a range of vehicles.
Southcombe Park Oval was awash with colour and people of all ages on Sunday as large crowds gathered to enjoy South West Street Rodders’ Show ‘n Shine event.
According to the group’s social coordinator Jack Arnel more than 400 cars were on display on Sunday.
“We had a wonderful weekend,” Jack said.
“We were really happy with the attendance; we had 150 entrants for the Port Fairy Rod Run and well over 800 people walked through the gates on Sunday.
“We had lots of cars from South Australia, New South Wales and from across Victoria.”
Along with the cars and motorbikes, there was also entertainment for children, rides and a live band.
The annual event continues to draw great interest from across the district and organisers are already looking forward to next year’s 42nd event.
