Warrnambool Moyne won the toss and sent South West in to bat at Reid Oval last Sunday – a decision that paid dividends.

A strong Warrnambool Moyne bowling line up saw the side restrict South West to just 10/85 in the 21st over.

South West opener Jamie Dewell (25) and middle order batsman Lachlan Green (35) were the only two to reach double figures, while team-mates Charlie Lucas (9), Henry Stevens (4) and Max Moor (2) were the only other run contributors.

Craig Britten had a great day with the ball, topping the wicket takers with a commanding 6/25 off seven overs while team-mate Sanjaya Chathuranga Illeperuma Arachchige was also handy, taking 3/18 off four overs.

Matt Petherick finished the day with bowling figures of 1/22 from four overs.

In reply, Warrnambool Moyne reached 6/86 after 16 overs.

Farooq Quereshi top scored with 35 runs from 34 deliveries while opener Edward Taylor contributed 23.

Round three, to be played on Sunday, December 15, will see Warrnambool Moyne take on Mount Gambier at Frew Park.
