Strong start for Gators
AFTER three rounds of Warrnambool and District Cricket, Allansford Panmure sits undefeated on top of the division one table.
The Gators are just percentage above second-placed Merrivale who are also yet to be defeated this season.
Round three last weekend saw the Gators take on Port Fairy at Southcombe Park.
Despite the challenging weather conditions on Saturday, the Gators won the toss and elected to bat, notching up 151 runs thanks to hard-hitting batsman Christopher Bant who top scored with 64 from 79 balls.
He was well supported at the crease by opener Kade Parker who contributed 19 and Kyall Timms who finished the day not out on 17.
In reply, Port Fairy finished the day on 10/101, with opener Alastair Templeton making a handy 35 runs, with support from Max Green (30) and George Macdonald 10.
Simon Richardson had a great day with the ball for the Gators, taking 5-16 off seven overs while Shiv Kumara also bowled well to finish with figures of 3-18 off nine.
Best of the Port Fairy bowlers were Alexander Jennings with 4-31 off nine and James Van De Peer 2-20 off nine.
In other round three division one matches on the weekend, Northern Raiders defeated Wesley Yambuk, Merrivale took the points over Dennington in a high-scoring game, West Warrnambool defeated Brierly-Christ Church, Mortlake accounted for North Warrnambool and Nestles were winners over Russells Creek.
