Earlier this month a class of South West TAFE EAL (English as Another Language) students visited the Warrnambool Community Garden to enjoy a day of learning and activities in an event co-hosted with Warrnambool Coastcare Landcare.
“Students received a Welcome to Country from Lee Morgan, learned lots about WCG and native plants including some bush foods, had a fantastic lunch from our amazing wood fired pizza oven and products from Worn Gundidj Aboriginal Co-Operative's bush foods range,” Warrnambool Community Garden convenor Rob Porter said.
“We finished off with the students planting some native seeds that WCG will raise, mostly for planting in the quarry.
“Warrnambool Community Garden really appreciates having others share our place with us.
“We run tours and activities for many target audiences, from preschool to older adult groups.”
Anyone interested in a tour or activity for their group can visit the Warrnambool Community Garden any Wednesday between 9am and 6pm.
Warrnambool Community Garden can also be contacted online at www.wcg3280.org.au or Facebook and Instagram.
