Tasty start for seniors
SENIOR citizens from across the Warrnambool district enjoyed a tasty and sociable start to their week on Monday.
More than 100 special guests enjoyed a ‘high tea’ at the Archie Graham Centre on Monday to kick off the 2023 Warrnambool Seniors Festival in style.
The centre was filled with much laughter, conversation and tasty treats as guests shared stories and new friendships were made.
According to Clare Vaughan from the Archie Graham Centre, the day was a huge success.
“Everyone seemed to have had a lovely time judging by the smiles and the conversations in the room,” Ms Vaughan said.
“It was a lovely way for some of our seniors to start their week; we have so many activities planned for their special month.”
One of the guests at Monday’s high tea, Roseno Guiney, made special mention of the work of centre volunteers.
“We have all had a lovely day and we’d like to thank the volunteers who did a marvellous job,” Ms Guiney said.
“The food was absolutely delicious – I usually only have a piece of toast for lunch so this was a real treat.”
Warrnambool’s seniors’ festival program is jam packed with activities, excursions and plenty for residents to see and do throughout October.
