The down load from Deakin

FOR their October event, Business and Professional (BPW) South West visited Deakin University and heard from three local women who are taking the lead in study, research and innovation.

Guests enjoyed a tour of the library by local staff who also spoke of their roles and the challenges they faced working remotely during COVID-19. 

Deakin University library director Clare Carlsson spoke on her vision for the future of all of the four Deakin libraries and how students now use them. 

Deakin’s Partnerships Officer Nicky Suter spoke about her role working with schools across the region to help increase the number of students who come to Uni by breaking down some of the myths. 

Guests were given an overview of her program and told how they could volunteer to speak to young people about their career and their journey to their chosen career.

Communication and engagement officer Ailiche Goddard-Clegg also spoke to the group, discussing the new Hycel Technology Hub based on the campus and its research into hydrogen to help shape a sustainable future.
