Three flags for Roosters
SOUTH Warrnambool juniors have taken out three premiership flags in the Hampden League finals.
The Roosters’ under 14 football, 15 and under reserve and 13 and under reserve netball sides all won their respective grand final matches at Reid Oval last Sunday.
The talented young footballers capped off a stellar season, finishing fourth on the league ladder and earning their way through to the big day after defeating Terang Mortlake in the elimination final, Hamilton in the semi-final and Warrnambool in the preliminary.
The Roosters put on a great display of team-work last Sunday to defeat North Warrnambool 7.4.46 to 4.3.27. Best for the premiers were Paddy Sell, Jimmy Stevens, Jacob Lucas, Patrick Ragg, Billy Schrama and Harry Miller.
Best players for North were Connor Brisbane, Max Titmus, Ben Murray, Jameson Chuck, Charlie Jellie and Caleb Stuart. The 15 and under reserve netball side defeated Warrnambool 32-25.
Best for the Roosters were Ruby McKinley, Lottie McCosh and Ginger Butters. Best players for Warrnambool were Lola McCarthy, Layla Nicolson and Evie Buckle.
In the 13 and under reserves, South defeated Koroit 30-18.
Best players for South were Lucy Rea, Molly McNeil and Lottie Wilkinson while for Koroit, Ellie Dobson and Ava Gleeson were named best.
