Weather holds off for little athletics
WHILE the weather may not have been ideal for little athletics last week, the Warrnambool track was full of athletes keen to begin the new season.
More than 130 athletes took part in the first session of the 2024-25 season, all eager to be put through their paces in a variety of events.
Long jump, 100m and 300m were all on the program and thankfully the rain held off long enough to be able to complete all events.
The Warrnambool Little Athletics Club committee thanks all parents who attended for their patience while registrars Jess and Cindy learnt to navigate the new registration process and ensured all athletes had their patches (and necessary pins) in place.
This year the centre is looking forward to seeing its new SunSmart tees join the competition uniforms.
All uniforms will be available in the coming weeks.
Tonight (Friday, October 25) there will again be a three-event warm up program before the usual program begins.
The club is also looking forward to seeing hurdles back in action after many years.
Anyone interested in joining the family fun and fitness that little athletics brings, a two week trial membership is available on the Little Athletics Victoria website.
The club is looking forward to seeing all members back at the Brauerander Park track from 5pm tonight.
