Women’s Weekend a hit
PORT Fairy’s annual ‘Women’s Weekend’ once again attracted great interest from across the district.
After being postponed due to the pandemic, the popular event returned to Port Fairy last weekend, with many of the activities sold-out.
Organised by members of the Port Fairy Community House, the event kicked off on Friday night with celebrations at Blarney Books.
Event organiser Pam McGoldrick said the program focussed on women’s wellbeing, encouraging them to slow down and take care of themselves.
“The weekend was built around the idea of women creating friendships and social interaction, connecting and really taking care of themselves,” she said.
Some of the highlights of the weekend included several hands-on activities such as ceramics, make-up tutorial, secret garden painting, lino printing on fabric and Zumba.
“These classes really allow women to make valuable social connections,” Ms McGoldrick said.
The weekend also included nature portraits, pilates and dance and concluded with lunch at the Community House on Sunday afternoon.
